Your Business is None of LinkedIn’s Business
Your Business is None of LinkedIn’s Business
Who's in your contact database? LinkedIn's default privacy setting let's all your contacts know this important business asset. Here's a tip on making sure you're not giving away the store on LinkedIn.
Each morning I'm greeted with a list of all your new connections on LinkedIn. Well at least those of you who are in my network. May I say it makes me a bit uncomfortable knowing who you're linking up with. Especially if you are in a job search, or it's obvious your accepting connections that have no connection with your work or goals. You've got nothing to worry about from me. I have no intention of stealing your connections. But still, do you trust all of the connections you've picked up along the way? From my very first business assignment I learned that the contents of your contact list were a closely guarded secret. Apparently LinkedIn thinks otherwise. The default setting is to reveal and promote your new connections.
