The Magic of Direct Links
The Magic of Direct Links
It only takes one missed connection for travelers to appreciate the magic contained in the phrase, "direct flight". You can share the same kind of magic with your website visitors by providing them with a direct connection to your valuable content. Many entrepreneurs use "landing pages" to create quality marketing copy, and then shoot themselves in the foot by burying it under a cryptic web link like:http://www/mysite.com/~k37q5682.html. Work with your web professional to create direct links to valuable content that are easy to read, say and spell. The web link "mysite.com/events"* creates the perfect destination for a page with information about your current and future events. It's a better alternative to sending a prospect to your home page hoping they will find the menu button for "Events". (The full link would be something like:http://mysite.com/events/index.html) Shorter, direct web links are not only easier to say, they fit quite nicely on a postcard. Because they are so easy to type, shorter links virtually eliminate those dreaded "Page not found" errors. How do you make sure your prospect reach the right destination with a smile on their face?
