"Sent from my iPhone", is NOT a personal branding statement, unless of course your name is Apple. Here's how to make all your email signatures match...
This message was NOT sent from my iPhone, iPad or other mobile device. On the other hand, here's one that was, "Sent from my iPhone, please excuse any typos". It could have been worse, "Sent from my painfully slow, totally obsolete Crackberry". But I've got to admit, it is still better than the default, "Sent from my iPhone." VIRs (Very Important Recipients) often use the info in your mobile email signature to connect with you. Leaving the generic, vendor inspired marketing message in place is a dead giveaway that you are digitally challenged, especially when it comes to your mobile domain.

Branding With a Single Voice

Many business pros are migrating their primary email tasks from desktop or notebook computers to mobile devices. Since the start up mobile phone configuration is often handled by cellphone techs or IT staff,  the setup of a personalized email signature is left undone. It's important because VIRs need your contact information to connect with you via phone or your social profiles. Your very important leads, prospects and clients end up receiving a different branding message and contact info from each of your devices. Your brand should not be about your device, it should be you!  Each element of contact info, including logos and links should match across all phones, tablets and computers. The only difference should be in the layout. Using a larger font size to create a smartphone signature just makes good sense.

Your email signature is an important element of both your corporate and personal branding. Don't squander this marketing opportunity by giving all the juice to the device manufacturer.
