The assignment was simple. Reduce the complexity and cost, and oˆh, get rid of those %^@*& ROBO CALLS. When a frequent customer offered a UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) assignment, I had no idea what I was getting into. By the end of the project both of us would have new office phone systems. I would cut their telephony stack and their costs in half, and I would lose my decade-long faith in an iconic technology brand.

When I watch a movie, I have no problem suspending my disbelief. I know I'm not James Bond or a Marvel superhero. However, when I discover a technology platform that promises a lot of value for very little in price, I don my super skeptic cape.
