Frequently I post "What I Learned" on social. I post immediately after a conference, class, almost any event. It's more that an editorial segue to an article I'm sharing. It's an essential exercise I use to maintain mental fitness. In Brian De Haaff's Inc. Magazine article, 4 Ways Successful People Learn More, Brian, Founder and CEO of Aha! makes the case that life-long learners are more successful.

It's really about intentional learning, a mindset of looking for the value in learning, assimilating and leveraging what you learn each day. This week we will take a deeper look into the 4 ways learning creates success. Here is todays focus.

Learn How You Learn

Brian suggests a self-evaluation to determine your best learning modality. It could be reading a Facebook feed or listening to a podcast each day. Watching funny videos or the simple act of hanging with your peeps over pizza and beer. The quickest way I know of is to jot down your notes as part of a "What I Learned" list. Not a fancy journal, or specializeded app. Just a note. Over the next few days, jot down when you learn something. Where did it come from? How did it arrive? How useful was it? What did you do with what you learned?

For me it's Seth Godin's daily post. It arrives via email early each morning. It's a quick read, it always makes me think. I often share it with my community. I take notes and attempt to put the idea in play that day. As part of my unpacking of Brian's artilcle, I will focus on a different element and share what I learned. Tomorrow It will be on the value of including multiple links in your posts. I hope to share the strategy of linking to your own IP and the best way to create a Call to Action that leads directly to your bank account.

Let the learning begin!
