As a presenter I've survived rooms full of CEO's, Sales professionals, and even pocket protector packing engineers. There is only one crowd that makes my palms sweat... 5th graders!
Each November, (once the memory of my last encounter fades) I agree to switch hats, leave the safety of my computer cave and enter the domain of Mrs. Stephens' 5th grade class at Wolf Lake Elementary in Apopka, Florida. Don't get me wrong, they are the most pleasant, well-mannered audience you would ever hope to address. I just know their questions are going to come out of left field!
I never imagined my Degree in Hamburgerology would produce the most burning question of the 2007 session. Nothing technical like, "How big is a Megabyte?" or, "Mac or PC?"
What do inquiring minds want to know? "What is the secret ingredient in McDonald's milkshakes?"
Of course I'm really looking forward to this annual event, but I could use your help. Please check out the curriculum for the event and if you have any words of wisdom from your work experience please post a comment below. I and many other "Teachers For a Day" will be eternally grateful!
