A Tale of Two BooksThey say that a picture is worth 1,000 words. Some photos are worth a lot more. This photo of bestselling author Phillip Van Hooser, standing in front of the 5th Avenue display window at Barnes and Noble's flagship store in New York City, is easily worth 100,000 words. It's the number of words Phil used to publish two books, Leaders Ought To Know: 11 Ground Rules for Common Sense Leadership and Willie's Way. A better photo exists. It shows the book cover clearly without a reflection. I chose to feature this photo instead because it captures the ghost of Phil's last bestseller, Willie's Way, 6 Secrets for Wooing, Wowing and Winning Customers and Their Loyalty. One photo, two books, easily worth 100,000 words. Both books were published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc and I had the the privilege of serving as the Project Manager for both campaigns. The books share more than a photo, a Publisher and a Project Manager. Each contain solid, field tested methods for creating a culture of service, either to your customers or those followers who rely on your leadership. Having partnered with Phil for more than a decade, I know that Phil could not have written them any other way. From reading both books I learned that there are no shortcuts along the path toward being of service. It's a step-by-step process of building rapport, then building relationships. I congratulate Phil on his latest accomplishment, and his life's work. I hope you will accept my invitation to use the links below to learn more about Phil's work and his books. Phil, it's been an honor and a privilege to work with you. Can't wait to read your next bestseller!
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service. - Jerry Gitchel
