“Shares Well With Others” Your Next Business Imperative
“Shares Well With Others” Your Next Business Imperative
I don't run with scissors and I share well with others, and still I was surprised by these sharing angels. Here's how mobile and social teamed up to take the digital strategy title away from SEO...
I share every day. It may be an idea, a link to an article or post or the top points from a seminar. So I shouldn't have been surprised when I realized that 9 of my clients, associates or advocates had shared either my content last week or shared their content with me. Each evening my last office task is to reflect on what I am most grateful for. It's my way of shutting off the lights and closing the door.  Let me tell you about these sharing angels:
  • Eileen McDargh - Shared on Twitter my thought about the difference between the spelling and the meaning of the words Exclusive and Inclusive.
  • Jackie Dorst - Inspired a new landing page for Dental Practices with the question, "How can I share what you do with my clients?"
  • Lisa Hand - Shared her LinkedIn contacts with me when she offered, "Hey you! Go through my connections because I think there may be some business there!" Lisa is the only one I know who understands this concept. (Hey you, yourself!)
  • Lydia Ramsey - Shared my post, Book-Report - I Know What You Did on Facebook Last Summer.
  • Al Borowski - Shared my postSocial Networking Icons, Just Say NO.
  • Beverly Babb - Shared my postMobile-centric Marketing. If you miss this opportunity, you're not only blind, you're invisible.
  • Jeff Tobe - Shared a report with me, which I passed along.
  • Randy Pennington - Published a video about Create Distinction by Scott McKain
  • Scott McKain - Shared the idea that brought focus to this post, "I must go from sharing information to becoming the chief conveyor of WISDOM".
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the insight and inspiration Scott.

The Wisdom of Sharing

Mobile and Social have teamed up to take the digital strategy title away from SEO. The chair your virtual visitors are sitting in is most likely on an airplane or in a coffee shop. Your visitors have left the building. Go find them. "Shares Well with Others" requires the creation of value. Cut and Paste just doesn't cut it. Sharing is about linking to your community. Without Randy's video, I would have missed Scott's inspiration. LinkedIn is the new venue for referrals. Lisa didn't give me her contacts, just a peek at them. If I find a good fit, I will ask Lisa to introduce me. Anything less and I've blown both the opportunity and our relationship. When linking to individuals, never, ever link to their home page. Link to their About page or LinkedIn profile to extend a personal introduction. (Check out the links above). Does your About page include a CTA (Call To Action) at the bottom? Go read it now and ask, "Where should I invite my prospects to visit next?" Add a link to act as a written invitation to learn more about your business.

Tips for Sharing

I have too many to list here. It's all about the Path of Engagement. It leads from Social (PR) to Content (Marketing) to your Product Catalog or Spectrum of Services (Sales). Give me a call 727-278-9382 or visit AskJerry with your specific question about Smart Sharing.

Insight

Smart sharing is not about the quanitity of contacts, it's about the quality of the relationship.
